I looked at the standard n-line too which is around the same price as the Impreza but found it wasn’t even comparable in terms of features/interior. To be fair to Hyundai though, the N-line is still a substantial performance improvement over the standard i30. You get the 1.6L turbo (shared with the Cerato GT) instead of the base 2.0L N/A engine, and a 7-speed DCT. The MPS was a beast of it’s time, but it’s diff and lsd are no where near as good as modern hot hatches. If it’s just the N line and not the actual i30N, then no. 150kw & 265Nm Hyundai vs. 190kw @ 380Nm in the MPS. Even if there’s a few hundred kg difference, that extra torque in the MPS will make it feel way quicker. The official times that Hyundai has released say the i30 Sedan N can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 5.3 seconds, onto a top speed of 250km/h, which is more than one second faster than the existing 8Y0t9.
